Do I have to work in Jersey City? Do I need to bring my own money to trade? No. As an employee/proprietary trader, you trade the firm's capital. At some point in the future you may choose to become a customer trader. Are there any account minimums? Yes. Because we realize that direct access trading is highly risky, and is not appropriate for people without adequate capital and net worth, $30,000 is the minimum to open and maintain a client account. We also recommend that you have a net worth of at least $100,000. (See offsite trading for more information). Do I need my Series 7 license to apply? Not to apply. If you'd like to be an employee/proprietary trader, you will need a Series 7, 55, 63 license before you can begin trading the firm's capital. We will sponsor you for these licenses as part of your mentoring. If you are trading solely for your own portfolio, either onsite or offsite, you do not need any license. What kind of mentoring do you offer? The best. After you've obtained the required licenses, you begin your one-on-one mentorship. Starting by trading 100 shares at a time, and moving higher as you gain more experience and confidence, you'll work with a lead trader who will help you master the software and other ins-and-outs of direct access trading. How much money can I expect to make? The only thing Direct Access Trading can promise is risk. How much you could make or lose is a factor of so many things - like your trading style, market fluctuations, timing - that it is impossible to determine. Do I have to work in Jersey City? The answer is… yes, and no. If you'd like to take advantage of our mentoring program for employee/proprietary traders, it is only offered at our Jersey City and Manhattan offices.
